On the one hand, vitamin C acts as a cofactor for diamine oxidase, an enzyme that is necessary for the breakdown of histamine, and on the other hand, the amino acid methionine is involved in the breakdown of the messenger substance. The recipe is rounded off with quercetin and high-quality vitamin B12 as methylcobalamin, a cofactor for the formation of active methionine and histamine-degrading enzymes.
• Quercetin supports vitamin C in its antioxidant function. In addition, quercetin and calcium influence the stability of the cell membrane of our mast cells, which contain a large part of our body's own histamine.
